Ad Astra Kansas

Kansas Day — January 29, 2008

The Ad Astra Kansas News has participated in Kansas Day activities at the state capitol building in Topeka for the past two years. In 2008,  Ad Astra Kansas materials were displayed in the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education booth. In 2007, the governor's theme for Kansas Day was "To the Stars." Geared towards students in grades 3-9, the Ad Astra Kansas News display theme was "Kansas Kids Reaching for the Stars Thru Hot Science, Cool Museums, Super Stargazing and Rockin' Rocketry."

Eager students swarm in front of the Ad Astra Kansas display at annual Kansas Day activities held  in the capitol rotunda every January 29. Providing materials and giveaways for the Ad Astra display were: The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center,  Exploration Place, Kansas JASON Project, the 20th annual Kansas Science Olympiad, the Kansas Junior Academy of Science, the Kansas BEST competition.  Also featured were the Wellington Challenger Space Center, Kansas observatories, Kloudbusters Rocketry and 4-H and Scouting rocketry.
