2012 Galaxy ForumThe event was highlighted by a presentation on Voyager 1’s anticipated crossing into interstellar space and NASA’s new Radiation Belt Storm Probes mission by Dr. Tom Armstrong of Lawrence, a Kansas space physicist who is a co-investigator on both missions. For more than 40 years, Armstrong has participated in design and development of instrumentation and software for 10 NASA satellite missions, including Cassini and Galileo, as well as ongoing analysis of data gathered by those missions.
